Tan Son Nhat airport (IATA: SGN; ICAO: VVTS) is the main and the busiest international airport in Vietnam serving Ho Chi Minh city and the southeast area of the country.
Tan Son Nhat airport is located 7 km from Ho Chi Minh city, in Tan Binh District. The busiest routes from Tan Son Nhat Airport are Hanoi, Da Nang, Hai Phong, Tanh Hoa, Hue, Singapore, Bangkok, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang and Seoul.
Tan Son Nhat International Airport consists of two passenger Terminals: T1 (domestic terminal) and T2 (international terminal). Both terminals are really close from each other, so passengers can arrive there within a short walk. It handles all domestic and regional services to and from Ho Chi Minh airport.
Terminal 1 – Domestic flights
Ho Chi Minh Airport Domestic Terminal facilities consists of a two level building with 19 boarding gates:
Ground level
This is the Arrivals level with the baggage claim area in the center that leads to the Arrivals Hall, with Departure Halls A and B on each side.

Terminal 2 – International flights
Ho Chi Minh Airport International Terminal facilities are distributed into four levels as follows:
Ground level
This is the Arrivals and baggage claim level.
There are information counters and exit to ground transportation.
Services: Information counter, first aid station, among others.
Level 1
This is the passport control for Arrivals and Immigration level.
Once cleared, passengers can proceed to the Ground level, where Arrivals are located.
Level 2
This is the Departures level, where check-in is located and access to the 12 boarding gates after security check.
The boarding area is split by the green area, distributing its gates on either side (boarding gates 8 to 20).
Level 3
Find here Immigration. Once cleared, passengers have access to restaurants and some concessions.

Orchid Lounge: International Terminal, second level, near gates 10-14. Service hours: From 06:00 am to 02:00 am. Services: Newspapers and magazines, drinks, premium food, snacks and Wi-Fi.

Transport to and from Ho Chi Minh city
It takes 30 – 45 minutes to move from the Noi Bai airport to the Hanoi center depending on which vehicle you will choose (taxi, mini bus, public bus, or private car) and how heavy the traffic is.
- Public bus:
Three bus routes transfer passengers to the city centre very conveniently. Bus number 109, 152, 49 leaves every 15 to 20 minutes and will drop you off to the center. If you do not know which bus you should take and when to get off, just contact the staff at airport information, show them your address, and they will help you find the right bus. - Taxi: Taxi ranks are located outside both Ho Chi Minh Airport terminals. Note that there’s a line to get a taxi to city center, it is located on the left after getting out of the ground level of the International Terminal.
